Note: we have a bespoke page on travel and accommodation for delegates here.
The University of Sussex is located in the South Downs National Park at the edge of the beautiful and sunny beach city, Brighton and Hove. A 30 minute train journey from Gatwick airport, and an hour to London stations, the city is a vibrant destination for visitors in search for the sea and cultural life.
The conference takes place in the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts as well as on other campus locations. The conference will engage with the city in many ways, for example with events open for members of the public as well as running some of the late night events in Brighton clubs.
There are frequent trains from the Brighton train station and to the Falmer station (of University of Sussex). The train trip takes 9 minutes. There are also frequent busses and they go all night (bus number 25 and 23). If you need a taxi, you can call the numbers (0)1273 202020 or (0)1273 747474. Further info here.
We are recommending affordable accommodation in the halls of resisdence on campus during the conference and these can be booked on the Sussex Store when registering for the conference.
There are various restaurants, cafés and shops on campus. In Bramber House there is a Co-Op supermarket which is open late. Opposite Bramber house is a pharmacy and the Tai Supermarket. Around campus there are cafés, and we recommend the Arts Piazza Café, the IDS café (which sells food during the day), and the Student Union Bar.
